Andi Wecker grew up in Cologne, Germany, and started his career in 1998. After having worked four years in different jobs (assistant director, electrician, camera assistant) in film and TV, he joined the film production company Network Movie in 2002 as producer.
Projects as producer include the first season of the international coproduction “The Team” (creative producer, dir. Kathrine Windfeld, Kasper Gaardsøe), several seasons of the crime series “Soko Köln (PD Cologne)”, TV-movies like the comedy “Schade um das schöne Geld” (dir. Lars Becker) or the adaptation of Frank Schätzing’s bestseller “Die dunkle Seite (The dark side)” (dir. Peter Keglevic), various parts of the feature-film-series “Nachtschicht (Nightshift)” (dir. Lars Becker) and “Stralsund” (dir. Martin Eigler) or the Berlinale-contribution “Lollipop Monster” (dir. Ziska Riemann).
Concurrently he studied directing at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne (degree 2012) and wrote and directed TV-series, short films and commercials.
Andi is alumni of the 2015 “European young leaders” program by Friends of Europe and Europa Nova.
