Director of Non-Scripted, UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific FremantleMedia International
As Director of Non-Scripted, UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific for FremantleMedia International, Angela Neillis seeks to acquire stand out, non-scripted content to bring into FremantleMedia International’s catalogue from producers worldwide outside of North America.
Neillis’ responsibilities include the acquisition, development, financing and co-production of non-scripted content with both in-house and third party producers. With the aim of securing rights across international television, DVD and digital for cutting edge content, Neillis provides investment and collaboration for FremantleMedia’s in-house producers Boundless, Thames, Talkback and FremantleMedia Australia, as well as third party producers. Neillis also works with a number of the top non-scripted indies in the business and oversees FMI’s first-look relationships with producers such as Jamie Oliver’s Fresh One Television.
Key to FremantleMedia’s collaborative approach, Angela works closely with the internal Global Entertainment division to manage the international format and tape launches.
Angela started her career in film and television production in 1995, working as a freelancer across a variety of productions. This gave her a unique understanding of the ups and downs of independent production.
In 2000, with the promise of her first ever paid holiday she moved into acquisitions in the television distribution sector, beginning at ITEL which became Granada International. In 2006, Angela moved into a commercial post at the newly set up Indie Unit at BBC Worldwide, and after seven fun years, moved on to postings at Zodiak Rights and Sky Vision. In November 2013, she moved to FremantleMedia International.
