Jon is Head of Comedy at Sky where he commissions and executive produces scripted comedy for Sky1, Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts.
His credits for Sky1 include, amongst others, Stella (Ruth Jones), Trollied (Jane Horrocks, Jason Watkins) and Mount Pleasant (Sally Lindsay) each of which have transmitted over 50 episodes. On Sky Atlantic his credits include Alan Partridge’s Mid-Morning Matters and Scissored Isle (both Steve Coogan) and Camping (Julia Davis). For Sky Arts, A Young Doctors Notebook (Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm), Nixon’s the One (Harry Shearer), and the acclaimed recent series Urban Myths (Rupert Grint, Eddie Marsan, David Threlfall, Ben Chaplin, Noel Clarke). Jon also execs the Sky Comedy Shorts – On Demand short form films that have featured Jason Manford, Ross Noble, Nick Mohamed, Katherine Ryan, Matthew Holness and a host of diverse and emerging comedy talent.
Sky is launching a raft of new programming in the coming months which Jon has commissioned. Sick Note (Rupert Grint, Nick Frost, Don Johnson), Carters Get Rich (Rhashan Stone, Kerry Godliman), Bounty Hunters (Jack Whitehall) and Ratburger (David Walliams, Sheridan Smith) are amongst the new titles that will air on Sky1.
Prior to Sky Jon was a comedy producer principally for the BBC where he headed up BBC Comedy North, the BBC’s Salford/Manchester comedy department. Here he produced eight series of the multi-award winning Ideal (Johnny Vegas), award winning BBC3 sketch show Scallywagga and BBC1’s The Visit (John Henshall). He also worked across BBC Radio 4 projects with John Bishop and Alan Carr.
Jon is a BAFTA TV Committee member and a mentor for RTS Futures.
